Can the Panasonic GH4 charge and run while plugged into 2.4amp USB wall chargers?

Someone please confirm this before I go ahead and order a 5 port (2.4a/port) USB wall charger. I need to make sure that this is enough to charge the camera but also be able to still run and record on the camera while charging.

Not a GH4 user but as far as I know it does not charge the battery via the USB cable.

Huh? Unless you're using something else in between I don't think the GH4 supports USB charging, only a couple of newer M4/3 cameras do (possibly just the GX85) and even then it won't power on while charging.
Panasonic's official AC source uses an empty coupler instead of a battery inside the body IIRC.
There's some third party combo AC sources/external batteries that will accept USB power input and use it's own internal battery to boost the output up to that the camera needs, they still use a coupler instead of a battery inside the body tho.

Re: Can the Panasonic GH4 charge and run while plugged into 2.4amp USB wall chargers?
I have a Dual Channel USB charger for BLG-10 and BLE-9 for my GX85. It can charge batteries by an USB adapter on AC power source, or simple an USB power port extension cable, or simply by external power bank. But it must be at a 2A output.
So, if you could find an USB charger for the battery (BLF-19) of GH4, it should be OK. I don;t think you can directly use an USB cable (so can't use an USB power port) to charge your battery through its original charger nor through the camera body.

The GH4 will not charge from a USB. Only the GX85/0 (GX7 II) will charge by USB.

You can use Panasonic's AC adapter + battery coupler, it's not cheap but there's third party alternatives at B&H and elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. I *think* the one I bought was from bestbatt.com but I'm not positive, can check, didn't run me more than $40 or so. You'd need to be near an outlet obviously.
For something more portable or off-grid which allows you to use a USB power source (like a power bank), you can use something like this with the appropriate coupler (not cheap tho):

Use the battery power. What is your problem ? What is the reason for not being able to use the normal internal and/or battery pack external battery ?

The battery grip with a second battery will run for a very long time. I recorded a 3 hour long AVCHD clip and it was still on the first battery.
I also use a YAGH for long days of shooting. To power it I bought a surplus laptop style 12v power supply, cut off the end and soldered on a 4 pin XLR connector. Whole thing cost less than $20.

I would love to know where you got the DMW-YAGHfor such a low price
Note: there is a special offer at B&H that expires 8/20.
What I would like to add is that the GH4 and the DMW-BGGH3 both accept the DMW-DCC12 and can be powered using the DMW-AC10 or an alternative 12V power supply.

For two hours I'd just buy the battery grip (DMW-BGGH3), which adds a second battery (well, if you buy one).

Do you actually own a GH4 ? Did you read both user manuals ?
Did you say a few months ago in the following thread that the GH4 is not a good camera ?

and you were considering the G7 ?
